About Us
In 2022, owners Sumner & Hamish Raos were relaxing on their honeymoon. Surrounded by the serene beauty of Uluwatu's nature and inspired by the slow, minimalist lifestyle. It was here that Joan Avenue was born with just one pair brought back to their home in New Zealand.
Our Story
This one pair was the Soleil Sandal, a genuine leather strappy sandal in which Sumner spent her whole Summer adventuring in and truly discovering the need in todays market for a leather shoe that doesn't break the budget. With her vast background in clothing design Sumner was extremely excited to start Joan Avenue, something new and exciting.
